We had Nicks 30th birthday on January 11th and Malleyas 2nd birthday on January 12th. We didn't do a huge celebration but did a little dinner and cake on the Sunday before their b-days due to being busy with work and school that week. My mom wanted to make a dinner for them and have a little cake and ice cream. I made a little cake (with Nicks help) because Malleya asked for a castle cake. Nick isn't big on birthdays even though I was tempted to do something since he turned 30. Malleya has been practicing the Happy Birthday Song for a while and has been so excited to open presents. She knew she was getting a baby stroller and screamed with excitement when she opened it up. I can't believe how big my daughter is getting. She has grown so much and is so fun to be with. I hate having to go to school and I miss her every morning. I love her hugs she gives me when I come home. I can't believe my husband is the big 3-0. He does so much for me and Malleya and works hard. I love both of them so much! Happy Birthday to my two favorite people!!

Sorry the pictures are a little out of order. Our Christmas was wonderful!! My husband was able to have Christmas Eve off and then the day after Christmas (that is very RARE for us). We did Gingerbread Houses, had Bethlehem Dinner with the Sheffers and Olsons, read the nativity story and sang Christmas Songs for Christmas Eve. It was wonderful not to have to focus on school or work. On Christmas Day Malleya was so excited about her presents. She was SPOILED. Santa gave her a kitchen, computer ("puter") and little nick-knacks. Her grandparents really spoiled her with clothes and other stuff. Thanks so much for a wonderful Christmas and I loved being able to spend it with Nicks family and my family.

Our ward had their Christmas Party and Santa came in for a visit. Malleya was very hesitant at first until she saw that they get candy from him. She jumped right on his lap, he said Hi and gave her candy. She got right down and said "Thanks Santa!" It was a much better experience then last year where she freaked out and cried. Candy must be pretty amazing to her!

This Thanksgiving was an Olson one. I haven't had one for eight years and we were so excited to be able to have one now that my parents are living here. My sister flew in from Georgia for Thanksgiving with her husband and her little girl. On Wednesday we had a girls night out. We went to the Breaking Dawn movie and then out to eat at Sparks. It was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed being able to be with my family even though some were missing. This was the first year we missed out on a Sheffer Thanksgiving. We hope they can forgive us for not attending as I was selfish and soaked in some Olson Family Time. Malleya had so much fun with her cousins. Everyday she asks about going back to Grandma and Grandpas to play with them.

This Halloween we dressed her up as Minnie Mouse. Ever since we went to Disneyland she has been obsessed with all things Disney. She also loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on TV. Halloween was a lot of fun and she learned to say "Trick Treat" and she loved getting CANDY. We went to my brothers ward Trunk or Treat and it was HUGE. She had a lot of fun being with Grandpa, Grandma and her cousins that all helped her out during the Trick or Treating. Nick and I usually do something themed but this year we did not really dress up. I am really glad Malleya had a lot of fun for Halloween!

Sorry the pictures are a bit random. Nicks football team is doing really well this season. It is a lot of fun to go watch them every Saturday. Malleya loves watching her daddy play football. The other pictures are little things that Malleya has been up to. She has been wanting to start going in the potty but its only when she wants to and knows she is getting a treat-so she isn't quite "trained" yet. We got a pumpkin and Nick and Malleya enjoyed digging into it and pulling out all the guts. She loves seeing all the "scary pumpkins" around the neighborhood and loves that she now has one for her house.

We were able to go on a trip to Disneyland with all the Sheffers as one last hoo-rah! David and Gaile are going on a mission in October, Merrill and Meg are moving to Japan in October, and Sarah Lynn leaves for her mission in November. We will really miss everyone and were sooooo happy that we were able to spend time with them before they take off. It will be very different without them here for a while. It was so much fun!!

Nicks football season started! He plays with his brother Alan on a club team for Utah Valley University. Its a lot of fun to watch. I will have better pictures as the season goes by.

My dads birthday is the 14th so we got together on Sunday the 11th to celebrate it. I love having my family close! Happy Birthday Dad!

Nick was asked by his uncles company "Meat Man" to dress up as Nacho for the Salem Day Parade. Malleya was not sure what to think about it and was hesitant with him when he was wearing the mask.

Logan Trip

The pictures are a little out of order. We first stopped in Brigham City to look at the new temple they are building. We then had to stop by the DI there to find some treasures and found a mini drum set for Malleya and some shoes. It was my sister Melinda's birthday and she wanted to go on a hike up Wellsville Canyon. It turned out to be quite a crazy, scary and very eventful night. It was a 7 mile hike and it was very difficult. Nick and I took turns with carrying Malleya in a backpack up the mountain and we only made it about 2 miles. Nick, Malleya, Troy and myself headed back down the mountain.We were tired and hurting. My parents, Melinda and her two boys decided to keep going. To make a very long story short (I will try to anyway)...they got lost. The turnoff that the map had, was not there so they ended up on the mountain for 14 hours. Instead of a 7 mile hike, it turned into an ordeal of about 15-17 miles. Melinda's phone somehow worked up there and we were able to talk to them and try and help them down. While I stayed home with the little girls, my husband and Troy headed back up the mountain to find them. My family was out of water(had to drink from glacier water they found) and had very little light from my sisters phone to guide them down a steep mountain. I said so many prayers that night! We were very close to having to call Search and Rescue but with a lot of prayers and guidance... They were able to find my family and give them water and a little more light. They made it back home at 4:30 in the morning. We were all very happy for them to be home and they were so tired. I know that prayers were answered that night and that they were guided safely down that mountain. I'm so glad that my family is okay and I hope that my sister was somehow able to make up for that eventful birthday.

I made my sister a cheesecake for her birthday and let her have a taste.

She loves doing Yoga with me, so I got her all geared up for it. She is especially good at "downward facing dog" which I will have to catch a picture of it another time.

I made a tiny little hut for her and gave her a flashlight and she was in heaven for a good hour. She loved shinning the light in the dark hut and seeing her shadow.

My sister Kimmie was married on Friday July 22nd in the Draper Temple. She decided to have the reception the night before, which was a little different but it turned out really fancy and cute. She wanted all the girls in hats and cream shirts for the reception. For the treat we served frozen yogurt and had every topping you could think of. It was really fun having ALL my brothers and sisters here. I haven't seen some of them for a long time. It was the first time Malleya met my brother Dane. The luncheon was great but was a little crowded. It's a little weird that my baby sister is now married but she married a great guy. Love ya Kimmie and Robbie!

My family wanted to go up in the canyon and have dutch oven dinner. Nick jumped in the lake (with his clothes on and no extra clothes to change into) and then it rained and rained! He wrapped up in Malleyas Ziggy blanket and got a lot of comments due to the fact he wore it as a skirt. Silly Nicholas! The kids had a lot of fun playing under the umbrella, picnic table and a huge pine tree. The food was delicious and it was fun to be able to spend the fourth with my family!

At the Orem Fest parade. They were throwing ties so we caught a few for Nick to use at work and then the firemen were giving little hats to kids and Malleya got one. She loves the hat!

At the baby contest-we didn't win anything as far as the baby contest goes but we did win the raffle of a gift card to Texas Roadhouse and a bucket of peanuts. I don't know if I will put her or myself through this again next year but I thought she looked and acted adorable!

I love the Kumono and I hope to get a picture of all the grandkids in them together.

Some of my family was together one Sunday and decided to go visit my grandpas grave because we haven't visited it for a long time. We really miss him! He was such a great grandpa and I miss seeing him laugh and him telling his funny stories. Love ya Grandpa!

The Sheffers have had a tradition of going longboarding and riding the cart at Davids school after hours. It is so much fun! We did one last ride because he retired this year. We are going to miss being able to do this.

It was the Spam festival while we were there. They had spam with every food you can think of. We did not eat any of it due to it not sounding very good.

We found a soldier with the last name Sheffer. We haven't figured out what relation he is to Nick but we are pretty sure they are related in some way.

We also found an Olson. I'm not sure I am related to him because there are so many Olsons- I may even be related to the Olsen more than the other one.

There is oil still leaking from the Arizona. (The rainbow part of the water is the oil) They say that there is millions of gallons of oil in the Arizona and that it will leak for many more years.

We found a room with all the bunk beds. They were tiny. Malleya could barely sit up all the way. There were many rows of beds in one tiny room. I would have been so claustrophobic!

We took this picture just for April because there were so many birds of paradise flowers (her favorite flower) in the punch bowl that we visited.

Nick found a little Koi pond behind our hotel. Malleya loved looking at the fish.

On the way to the Polynesian Cultural Center. It was an hour and a half drive so there was a lot of site seeing done on the way. In the water there is a deck going out from a house. That is the house and deck from the movie 50 first dates (one of Nicks favorite movies with Drew Barrymore)

At the Cultural Center they teach you all about the different cultures from the Islands. This lady is teaching us how to move our hips. Malleya was up there dancing like crazy and people were taking pictures of her and filming it. She was quite entertaining. There is a video down below of her dancing.

She is learning how to make music with a hollow stick. She loved banging the stick around and yelling.

We got to see a parade of all the different Islands dancing for us. Malleya also enjoyed watching this and even joined in on the dancing. You can tell she loved it from the expression on her face below (She is saying "Wow!")

Nick was called up to the front of the stage in front of a lot of people to bang a drum and yell. The guy nic-named him "Utah". He was so entertaining that the rest of the day we would hear people say "Hi Utah!" or "Hey look, its Utah!" (The video is below all the pictures). Malleya was screaming the entire time he was up there because she wanted to be up there with him (You will hear her in the video doing that as well).

This is where Elvis sat and filmed some of his movies. There is a unique palm tree behind us that grew over the little river and back towards us.

This guy was nuts! He climbed up that palm tree and slid down it face first. In the picture he is holding onto it just with his feet.

At the Luau.....it was an all you can eat. We were stuffed because they also provide lunch that is all you can eat. The food was delicious!

We took a tour of BYU Hawaii. There are only 2700 students there.

The Hawaii Temple. Its so pretty! It was finished in 1919 and was the first temple built outside of Utah.

We asked Malleya where Jesus was and she pointed up to him. I love this picture!

I didnt get any pictures of the adult egg hunt because I was intensely looking for eggs....we won a game called "Ladderball" and we set it up to start a tournament. Alan did most the commentary for the game which made it even better. It was a blast!

The Easter Bunny brought her a tube to use in the water. She loves being in the water. We are excited to go to Seven Peaks this summer when it finally warms up!

Easter was so much fun this year! Nick was actually able to get a Saturday off (A MIRACLE) and we had the Sheffer Easter gathering on Saturday. We did a kid egg hunt, an adult egg hunt, the Egg Derby (Its sooo much fun but creates a big mess), did a Ladderball Tournament, and ate and ate and ate!!

I cant believe my baby is 15 months old. She is so fun to have around and loves to visit babies and say "Hi!" to everyone she passes. I have yet to figure out how to do her hair (the little that she has) Some people have told me to shave her head but I don't dare.

We love when our cousins come and visit. They are a lot of fun and love playing with Malleya.

Wow! My baby is no longer a baby. She turned 1! Its crazy how fast the year went by. We decided to do a princess party for her first birthday. My sister Kim does princess parties so if any of you are interested- let me know. She is great and looks just like Belle! The kids had so much fun. My house is tiny but they still were able to do the royal Olympics, a treasure hunt, and then get faces painted, crowns, and balloon animals. Malleya loved having all the attention, enjoyed eating her cupcake and opening presents. Thank you so much for those that could make it! I appreciate all the help I had, all the wonderful gifts from everyone and all those that had to travel all the way here. It was fun and quite a test to see how many people could fit in my house. I love my little lady so much and she is so much fun. She has quite a personality and is always so happy. Happy Birthday Malleya!

Christmas was so nice! We were all spoiled especially Malleya. On Christmas Eve, we went to Bethlehem Dinner at the Sheffers. We got a lot of food storage from Nicks parents. We then came home and got ready for bed. Malleya fell right to sleep and slept until 9am. We got a lot of food storage from my parents as well and a nice George Foreman grill. Malleya got a lot of clothes and toys from Grandma and Grandpa Olson. We had a wonderful Christmas and Nick had a nice relaxing weekend away from work.

Yep, I chopped 14 inches off. I donated it to make myself feel better about doing it. Kimberly came with me to help and to also get her hair done. I did it a few weeks ago and I promised to post pictures for everyone that kept asking. I'm still trying to get use to it and figuring out how to do it. Some days I really miss all my hair but when I have to blow dry it- its the best!

I was a tourist, Malleya the Hula dancer, Nick was a ghost buster. I was a little sad we didn't really do anything themed but her costume was perfect for her. She danced in it all day.

Malleya LOVES going grocery shopping. She usually ends up turned all the way around and says hi to everyone we pass.

Meg watches Malleya sometimes when I go to class. She loves hanging out with her cousin Kai. When I came to pick her up they were hanging out at the window and I had to take a picture because it was sooo cute!

I made a tunnel for her out of her diaper boxes we had around. She loves climbing through it.

Kim had a play at her school. She is a really great actress! I love going to her plays.

They got pretty messy at Grandma Sheffers house but they had a lot of fun in the bathtub cleaning up.

Utah Valley University held a family Halloween party. Nick made this Nintendo box for Malleya to sit in. It was a hit- in fact all the people handing out candy gave her double because they loved it. They were all guys that played Nintendo when they were little. I thought it was funny.

Yikes! I can't believe I'm 28 years old. That's hard to believe. I'm crawling up to 30 years old very soon. Earlier, My sister Kim baked me an awesome German Chocolate cake that was delicious! Then my in-laws took me out to Carabbas. My husband got me a Costco card which is the best (but dangerous for me as well)! My parents let me go on a shopping spree with Kim and I got new jeans, a cardigan and some shoes. I also loved getting calls and texts from my family and friends that live far away. Thanks so much for a great day!

Malleya is 9 months old now. I can't believe it! She now has cut in two teeth and chews on everything. She talks all the time and says "da da" and "ba ba". She also clicks her tongue. Oakland Temple

The 49ers Stadium! They played against the Eagles and it had a sad ending. They lost! It was fun and everyone (the fans) loved Malleya. They kept giving her five. She loved the attention.

I found these ear muffs at Wal-mart. They worked great with blocking out a lot of noise. She did great with keeping them on.

We took a drive on Lombard Street. It took forever to get to and about 30 seconds to drive down it. The street to get to it is very steep and we were in a stick shift. We killed the car a few times and had the nice smell of a burnt clutch, but it was a fun and cool adventure!

My cousin Tabitha, her husband and their adorable twin boys live in San Francisco. We had to go see them! Malleya is only a month younger then the boys. They had so much fun playing together but we unfortunately couldn't stay long.

Nick drove by the Giants ballpark. It was one the most amazing ballparks I've ever seen.

On the trolley. They pack you in there like sardines but it was fun to ride in.

Little lady was so tired. She slept the entire ride.

We weren't able to go to Ghirardelli Square so this is the best we could do- by getting a picture.

We are standing at the entrance to Alcatraz Prison. It was quite an experience. They had you listen to stories from actual prisoners and guards that were there. We got to see the top floor, which is the hospital. They only open that for night tours because it is FREAKY! It was still very interesting to hear the stories and see all the history there.

Nick standing at solitary confinement. They would shut prisoners in there for a long time with no light. There was a prisoner that would take the button from his shirt and throw it in the room and search for it just to keep from going insane.

This is their tiny prison cell. There were over 200 prisoners and 150 guards. The cells go up three flights on both sides.

This is Alcatraz. The building on the right side was were the man that ran the prison lived with his family.

It was Fleet Week so we got to see the Blue Angels do tricks right around the bridge and around the bay. It was very cool, loud and crowded.

This is the cable car museum. It showed how the Trolleys work. They hook onto these cables that run under the city to go up hill and then they let go to ride downhill.

There was some serious archutecture in San Francisco. Ive never seen so many interesting buildings.

Nick won a trip from his work a while ago. We have always wanted to go to San Francisco and Nick had a weekend off so we went on road trip. It was a lot of fun. We saw so much stuff! I loved it. It was nothing like I expected. I loved the weather, the views and being with my family. It was a long drive there and back but Malleya did great. The pictures are a out of order but either way they are here for you to see. We crammed so much into a weekend but it was worth it to see and do. Im glad we were able to go.

He is # 67 (the year of his Volkswagen bus). They call themselves "Captains of Crunch". Yes, I know- I'm not a fan of that name either but I try not to think about it too much.

Nick and his brother joined a tackle football team. Its been fun but a little scary to watch. Nick is the offensive lineman and he has also played defense as the nose guard. Its every Saturday morning and he practices every Tuesday and Thursday at night. Its keeping him busy but he is loving it!

This little lady has been such a busy body! I cant believe she is eight months old! This is what happens while I'm at school and her daddy feeds her. She loves making messes and trying new foods. She finally cut a tooth and hasn't been sleeping well through the night but she is such a happy baby. She waves "hi" all the time and of course still does her dancing. She crawls all over the place and walks along furniture. We have caught her a few times standing up on her own but she then will realize it and flop down on her bum. She is so fun and I love her so much!

So for our 7th anniversary Nick surprised me with a night at the Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City. It was so much fun. Yes, we took Malleya because I am still nursing her. She had so much fun crawling around a large open space and exploring. We also ate at their fancy all you can eat restaurant. It was DELICIOUS! We also had a wonderful big breakfast in the morning. Thanks so much sweety for the get away! I love Nicholas sooooo much and I can't believe its been seven years already!

I was a little freaked out about touching the stingray but I did it!

This shark-boy was interesting

Going through the tunnel. It had a lot of different kinds of sharks and lots of cool fish.

This shark was HUGE and freaky. It kept circling around us.

It had really bright lights and very colorful fish.

They had tubes you could climb into to get close to the penguins. I had to do it. Penguins are adorable. This little guy was sleeping against the glass tube that I was in.

Orem Festival

June was a super busy month with family and other activities. It has been really fun having my family in town. I enjoy seeing them and wish they lived closer. I can't believe our little girl is almost 6 months old. She is getting so big. I cant believe she sits up all by herself now and she rolls and scoots everywhere! She has also started this new thing where she dances to music by swaying back and forth. I will try and get a video of it and post it sometime. Its super silly and cute. It was also fathers day this month- Nicks first one! I love my husband so much and he is the greatest husband and father ever! I also want to say that I love my dad and I am so glad he is here to visit for the summer while my mom helps out my sister in Georgia. He has been so helpful around the house by mowing our lawn and fixing things. Thanks dad! My nephew was baptized as well this month and it was a great event. I love visiting my nieces and nephews and can't believe how fast they all grow up! June went by really fast and was lots of fun!

Our friends gave us this awesome bumbo! She does so well in it and is getting stronger!

Nick likes to get her up really high and apparently she likes it too... Nicks favorite outfit is her "little Shef" outfit. She looks ADORABLE!

Practicing sitting up...with her boppy pillow. I love this little girl. She has grown so much. She loves to talk and is such a happy baby. She also sleeps really well at night. I couldnt ask for a better baby! We are so blessed.

Happy Easter! We had a lot of fun. Aunt Kim stayed around and watched conference with us, make sweet rolls (which were YUMMY) and to also celebrate Easter with all the Sheffers. I have to say I was so excited about Malleyas dress I found. We always called her little lady before she was born and I found a dress that had "little lady" embroidered on it. I couldn't pass it up plus I found it at Walmart! She looked so adorable and is always so happy. We had an adult egg hunt and won some cool things then we had to have the fun EGG DERBY. Its always competitive at the Sheffers but so much fun and we were glad Kim was able to join us. Kim made a Texas egg, Nick made his bus egg and I made my "best friend Merrill" egg. I love Easter and conference! It was a great weekend!

Leg Warmers

I love these leg warmers! I have been wanting to put them on Malleya forever and she was just too skinny. She finally has a little fat on those legs to fit them but she isnt quite long enough. She loves to move those legs! Nick did a little video of her dancing with the leg warmers. I love this little lady!!!!

Nick wanted us to come sit in his bus. He made it all comfortable. It was a little windy so we bundled her up...and of course I had to have some pictures. I love this little lady!!! She is so much fun!

The cone of shame...

Our poor puppy Harmony...over the weekend we thought she had allergies going on in her eyes. Its very common for boston terriors to get allergies. On Tuesday- her eyes were way worse and she was closing her right eye. I took her into the vet and found out some sad news. It seems that something got her in the eye causing an ulcer right above the cornea, which is now a hole in her eye and very infected. I felt horrible! They had to take her "third eyelid" and sow it over her eye to protect it from getting worse. She has to wear the "cone of shame" just so she wont itch it. We have to give her eye drops 3 times a day, pain killer and antibotics everyday for a week or two. We also have to take her back to the vet next week to see if its getting any better. Im glad that we got it taken care of or she would have gone blind. Can you imagine a blind and deaf dog- she would have to be renamed "Harmony Keller". POOR THING.
